30th Birthday

Yesterday was my 30th birthday. Wow! I'm leaving a decade behind and starting a new one. I am now in my thirties. Not sure how I feel about that yet. I want to highlight a few of the things that I accomplished in my twenties.

I served a LDS mission to Madrid, Spain. It was a great experience to live with and to serve the great people of Spain. I learned how to speak Spanish and it is an awesome thing to be able to speak with people in their native tongue. I also survived the college experience and came away with a degree in four years. Who knew that was possible. I then used my degree to get a Morning Show Host position at a radio station in Dillon, MT. What a wonderful time I had being a celebrity in a town of 5,000 people. They turned me loose on the air and I never looked back. While I was in Dillon I was able to fulfill a dream of being a firefighter. I was able to be a volunteer firefighter. It was incredible. The brotherhood was something that I will never forget and will always be grateful for the lessons I learned. I learned the true meaning of service, to risk one's life for others that you don't get paid to do. I also had the opportunity to go to Iowa and help friends harvest corn. Actually, it was so much fun the first time, I have returned three times since to enjoy the festivities. I visited Disneyland at the age of 29. I went in with the thought of it being for kids and walked out knowing I WOULD return. What a wonderful place. I finally made it down to Utah and found a job that I thoroughly enjoy. The best part is that I get to play with my nephew. How could I forget. I finally had the chance to play organized hockey. I played in a city league for three years while I was at college. The final season playing there my team won the championship. What a joyous day that was. Then last year I hit the ice again and played hockey in Park City. Once again, my team won the championship. It has been a sport that brings so much competition, fun and emotion that no other sport can parallel. I love it. It truly is the coolest game on earth.

Those are just a few thoughts obviously. I now have a new decade to look forward to. Forward to the future and the unknown.

Welcome

Welcome to my Blog!!!

I have been wanting to get a blog going for a long time but I just haven't taken the time to get around to it. Since work has been slow I decided to get it up and going. Alas, here is my blog. I just want to share some of my thoughts, adventures, opinions and random things that happen in my daily life. At some point I want to turn this into an audio blog so that you can just listen to what I say and not have to read as much. I'm working out the options for that so I'll let you know if and when that becomes an viable reality. I really want you to be able to hear the voice of Lee rather than just reading the voice of Lee. Anyway, welcome and enjoy!
